Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Does Manitoba Health cover physiotherapy?

Manitoba Health does not cover physiotherapy in private clinics. They only cover treatment provided in hospitals. If you are not covered by a private insurance plan, the WCB or MPI please see our fees and insurance page for a complete list of rates. We accept cash, cheque, debit and credit cards.

Q:  Do you do direct billing to insurance companies?

We direct bill to WCB, MPI and most other private insurers.

Q: How long does a physiotherapy treatment take?

Your first physiotherapy session usually takes roughly one hour. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete paperwork and prepare your file.  Subsequent visits are usually around 45 minutes depending on the nature of your treatment.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

The number of visits you will need depends on the nature of your impairment. Your therapist can discuss this further with you after your assessment.

Q: What should I bring to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement and inspection of the affected area. We can provide shorts or a gown if needed. Please bring your private health insurance card or plan numbers if you would like us to check your insurance coverage or do direct billing. If you have any other information such as x-ray reports, a doctor's prescription or claim number please bring them with you to your appointment.
